My life's gone backwards a bit there. I trekked up Division St. Only to find BrewDog Sheffield don't open until 4pm during the early part of the week. Piss Poor.
Anyway, Anchorages "gain". Get ready. Brooklyn Quadraceratops on Keg at 9.9%. Hhhmmm. Coca Cola on the nose. Thick. Burnt treacle in the mouth. Elements of syrupy cough mixture - although not unpleasant. Pushes towards liquorice. Inevitable sweetness. Gentle abv burning at the back of the throat. Loved it - just the one of those 9.9% fellas though.
I'm quite liking the Anchorage business model. Open (take that BrewDog). The house Portland Lager is only three and a half (English Pounds). Six guest kegs - UK, USA. The Handpulls are only £2.50 between 4pm & 8pm during the week.
Lively game up at Shirecliffe. With all the January signings, you can't really tell who is close to the First Team. Maybe just Cuvelier, McGahey & Freeman. Nobody has put in a you've got to pick me performance. But, they worked well as a team. The First Team playing last night will have sucked some fringe players out today.
Quite a few of these players (for eg Dimaio) will have been pushed backwards by the January newcomers.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was asked to do the lone striker role. Although they also pushed Jamie McDonagh up to join him at times.
Despite an early United goal, I thought Leeds bossed the first half. They had some good long range efforts. Nice, skillful strikes. The Blades did get a bit more on top in the second half. Calvert-Lewin was slipped through. Stayed strong & on his feet. Knew where the goal was & dinked it in. For that & winning headers in his lone striker role, he can have my Man of the Match.
