Insane game. Some enjoyment in the nonsense of it. But, the delusion ends here.

To whom it may concern

I'll happily be told "you're not the sort of fan we're looking for, I'm afraid we're going to have to let you go".

I go hither & thither looking for Beer & Live Games. A lot of the time, I look for Beer & Sheffield United games. First team, U21, U18, League, Cup, Friendlies, The Lot. I don't have a Season Ticket.

The I Believe, Keep The Faith, We Can Do This, The Blades Train, Bollox is not for me.

We're done now for this season. Here's my Manifesto for next year.

I'll go home & away to every game at every level in every competition that I can. I'll never boo. I'll never grass anyone who let's a flare off. If the makeshift centre half has been shit, I'll say "the makeshift centre half has been shit".

I'm a mug supporter.

I don't want to support a team owned by Saudi Elite blood money. Owned by a member of an extended ruling family who won't let women drive cars. I don't want to, but I do. With the Saudi money comes Mr Phipps & Mr Baki.

I want to just say to them, it takes more than Belief to win the 3rd Division. What else have you got? I'll cut slack. I bet they're working tirelessly. It's just difficult to tell. Performance wise, we've missed the basic objective of promotion.

Communication wise, we just get the IBB - I Believe Bollox.

Mr Baki seems relatively harmless. Makes me guffaw. On Social Media, the fella can start an argument with himself if no one else is available. Priceless. And, he's got all the "I Believe" moves going on.

"Good morning Mr Rose, thanks for your application to be an SUFC Board Member. Could you outline your key strengths & how they relate to the job description?"

Am I allowed to not believe, but still go to lots of games? Is Belief Compulsory?

I feel all this Rabble Rousing from the Board is divisive. People like me are excluded. Because I want to Support something rather than blindly Believe in something.

But, as I've said before, read Fit And Proper by Armstrong & Bell. We've had some right crooks before this lot of gunslingers. This lot are benign rather than dangerous.

Anyway Board fellas. We didn't get promoted. Believe it or not (see what I did there?) I'll be up for every game I can next season. Mug supporter. Maybe lay off the Believe/Faith Bollox for an hour or two.  What else have you got?

Some of that effort you're wasting on motivational missives & supporting a bewildering range of Regressive Tax charities on behalf of the club. Put that effort and energy into overlapping wing halves, management & coaching strategies & youth player development. You never know. You never know.
