I finished the day with a serious beer. That seemed apt. I think I’d have had it anyway - described as Belgian IPA. But, once I saw it was named after a Jesus & Mary Chain album, that tipped me over. Upside Down.

Revolutions, Psychocandy, Belgian IPA on cask at (a whopping) 7%. Slightly hazy. Fairly neutral sweet smell. Maybe heavily sugared fruit salad syrup. Tasting it, the dominant hit is sugar. Coats your tongue. Slightly Barley Sugar sweet. A numbing, anaesthetic bitterness. Not powerful, but a nice lingering finish.

Very odd game at The Lane. In one sense, The Blades were utterly dominant. In another sense, they were sort of hanging on at the end. And that was against NINE Shrewsbury lads at the end. Two Red Cards. I’ve looked it up - United had 30 shots/attempts. They should have had another hatful. Sharp even managed to miss a Penalty. There is an upbeat feel down there. And, I’m hanging onto that. Sure they missed & wasted chances, but they won. And they had been utterly dominant.

Freeman, Coutts & Duffy all went off with knocks. So, there is a worry there. But, crikey, they didn’t half juggle it. Ebanks-Landell was doing to the Freeman bombing down the right role at one point. Basham relished being pushed into midfield. You can do that against 9 men, when you’re utterly dominant. That puts us in the top two. Unbeaten in 13 in the League. Won the last 5 in all compos. Last league defeat was not in October, not in September, but in August.
