International Friendly

A new Good Beer Guide pub for me today. The Greyhound, “way out” in Hendon NW4. A multi roomed Young’s pub. Very friendly with seven on cask. I went back to basics with a pint of Young’s Bitter at 3.7%. Young’s Special was also on. Back in the day, it would have been a Ram & Special. It used to send you either violent or to sleep. The two things that mattered in those days. (See also Yate’s All Ins).

Another example of why International Friendlies are shit. Hear my confession…

I got pissed off with the Mexican Wave - it’s a football match for pity’s sake.
I got pissed off with as many subs as you like. It’s disruptive - it’s a football match for pity’s sake.
I left when it was 2-0. It’s ended two each.

Roll on the UEFA Nations League. Only two more years to wait now.

Despite all that, some nice signs from England. Vardy was lively & aggressive (until subbed).
