SUFC 2017/18 Game 28
Didn't quite expect all this. It's a 46 game season. We've played 10. One fifth into our survival is everything, consolidation season. We've won seven. And have gone second in the table. I think The Championship is a superb league. But, you're partly seduced by the Grand Old Teams in it. Sunderland, Derby, Wolves, etc. We're running some of those ragged.
The sending off changed it. Wolves had looked very bright in spells. Plan A Team. Attack quickly & pass accurately. But, let's have it right. It was certainly the correct decision to send Coady off. And, the foul happened because of what Clarke did. He was quick off the mark. Got a yard & stayed strong. I thought Wolves missed the trick up to half time. You've just got to maintain an attacking threat. It's an outlet. It gives you a rest. It's time. They came out much better in the second half. Who knows where it would have gone if he'd scored that Pen.
But, enough already. About them.
Great, great win. From a great, great performance. With a brace from Leon Leon Clarke Clarke. Centre halves overlapping the wingbacks. Who are box to box themselves. Back three just dealing with owt. Stepping through the line. Pressing. Bang at it. Constant attacking threat. And Coutts….
We were at the back of the BL Upper Corner. Mrs Ball Sup doesn’t do all that many games. She could see the patterns of play. And some detail. But, too far away & too infrequent to always be sure who’d got the ball. When she mentioned that. I gave her two minutes of names to help her out.

Moor Beer Company Tap Takeover at The Bath Hotel. Four Moor on keg. Six cask listed. But, only four Moor on (plus two Thornbridge)
Moor, Agent Of Evil, Black IPA on keg at 7%.
You don't see as many Black IPAs as you used to do you? I used to love 'em. Piled in. Glad I had this one. Lovely. Just a little bit of toast in the smell. Very fresh. Maybe something like caramelised apricot. Full of flavour. Great balance. The toast & bitter all comes together. Chewy & substantial.
Moor, All Dayer on keg at 3.5%.
Another blast from the past. The low abv, heavily hopped IPA. Mango in the glass. Looks lovely. Opaque, enticing. Tastewise, more reminiscent of a West Coast Pale than an IPA. But, glorious nevertheless. Some mango in it as it goes. Bitterness grows steadily. Some orange comes in. Great beer.
Moor, P.M.A. on cask at 5.3%.
Hazy & unfined. Goes very quickly into a rich bitterness. I'm getting lots of tongue tingling ginger in there. Some cinnamon spice. That beer has got it all going on. Comes at you. I’d come for the kegs. But that was, by a mile, the Standout Beer Of The Day. BREWED BY COUTTS no doubt…..
