Subdued atmosphere

England 29 v Lebanon 10

Rugby League World Cup

Played at Sydney Football Stadium

351 Australian Beer Ticks

I found that to be a slightly disappointing & subdued atmosphere. OK. It was a wet, filthy Sydney night. With the crowd rattling around inside the Sydney Football Stadium. Huddling in the lower tier back rows for whatever shelter they could get. But, I was hoping that the large Lebanese heritage (West) Sydney population would Ramp It Right Up. As I say, I thought it was all a bit subdued.

England got the job done & over the line. The need for constant rebranding & chasing the market by Big Industrial Brewers is helping the (in- ground) ticking. Last night it was Legendary Brewing Iron Jack. Mitsubishi own Kirin own Lion Brewing have Legendary Brewing imprint. That's the same stable as XXXX, Tooheys, Hahn, James Boag, Swan & West End.

Tonight, it was a tin of Great Northern Brewing, Super Crisp Lager. Anheuser Busch InBev own Foster's own Carlton & United Breweries have imprint Great Northern Brewing Co.

No Drama. A beer in the ground is what it is.

Before the game, we'd discussed capers at the ever excellent, old favourite Local Taphouse in Darlinghurst. A superb 19 on keg. Fourteen of those pukka Aussie Micros. I went...

Bruny Island Beer Co, Saison D'Entrecasteaux.
Hope Brewhouse, Raspberry Sour
