Lovely & hoppy. The abv lifts it a lot. Nice, rich, intense. Long, long finish.
You can't help but think, what if we'd got recent games over the line instead of drawing. The real story of that tonight was a comprehensive & fairly dominant win over a side above us. And with POP - Play Off Pretentions of their own.
Because of who we are, where we come from, it didn't feel like that all the way through. A somewhat sloppy goal immediately after half time, gave us the right old jitters. In the first half, the game had followed a helpful pattern. A wondergoal strike from Evans (Lee) calmed everything down & gave us a bit of a platform. Boro down to ten after 25. The fella has had to work hard to get two yellows by then. And then another Evans goal. A great volley, after Brooks picked him out.
I thought Boro looked a pretty decent outfit. Fast, accurate, direct. But, also a touch joyless. Very physical. Relying on those long throws. Pulis dicking about furiously on the touchline.
