A curtailed day (at the Cricket) for rain, meant an extended beer destination day. The 'Rey managed to rack up North of 400. Patto went for a Bucket 107. Bucket Shy Bresnan went for 98 (Brooks for 91).

Lees went for a first ball Duck - looking despairingly at the Ump to see if it'd carried. Pujara went on 34 for 3 - looking despairingly at the Ump to see if it'd carried. In between, Lyth had been pinned LBW. 40 for three when the rains came.

What a marvellous place The London Beer Lab is. Part. Everything. Part bar (natch). Part growler filling station. Part bottle shop. Part Brewery. Part homebrew shop. Part brewing college, piss about, have a go. The top floor was full of people boiling, mashing, hopping, stirring, sniffing - having a supervised go on half a dozen small brew kits. Then carrying their fermenting buckets down to the ground floor for “storage”. They'll be back in a few weeks to see how their beers have turned out. Marvellous.

However, we NEEDED fully formed, ready now, not in kit form, glass ready ALE. Luckily, they had that an’ all.

London Beer Lab, Mosaic DIPA on keg at 8.2%
I found that a touch warm. Maybe no one had had one yet by the time I attacked it. Rich bitterness from the off. Back of your throat stuff. Sultanas or similar in the mix. Coats your lips.

London Beer Lab, Tip Top Citra, American Pale Ale on keg at 5%.
That felt just a bit short on flavour on the first go. But, later it kicks in. A good whack of mouthfilling bitterness. A grower …

But, hands down Outstanding Beer Of The Day was!
London Beer Lab, Session IPA on keg at 4.2%.
Great beer. Smells lush. Pineapple maybe. But, the taste is glorious Hop Forward Bitter. Stays with you.
