Firstly, is Loft. Secondly, don't miss it. Down between two shops, down a little alley, up some stairs. Did I say? Is an Actual Loft. As far as I could tell, the two guys who were in there were the owners. I know (for fact) that they wouldn't have normally opened at the time we piled in. But, they had responded well to the initial negotiating position/ultimatum put to them by The Organiser. And, had opened the gaff “especially for us”.

A touch disappointing, therefore, to find just two (of three) handpulls on. One from Cross Bay in Morecambe. (Damn, the name escapes me, I must make better notes or take photies). Anyway, I had Blackedge Brewing Co, Pike on cask at 4%. Of course, Blackedge are at Horwich, where we were heading for the Bolton game. There was a hint of very nice caramel. A lot of flavour. And, into pleasant bitterness.

I also had Blackedge Brewing Co. Black (Unreal). A stout on keg. He had to change it “in front of me”. It came up a bit lifeless. Taste wise, a good, modern British stout. Nice rich blackcurrant up top. Hints of coffee at the end.
