No beer day.

Sat in the Long Room in the morning. Wickets tumbling in the Test at Trent Bridge. All you could hear was cheering from those watching that on TV in The Bowlers Bar.

The renovations at Lord's mean the Middlesex Room is closed. Middlesex members have been invited to use The MCC President's Box in The Grandstand. Churlish not to. Particularly as I was able to position myself so I could see the live action on the field & the Test on TV. Information overload as I also had the Test on the radio headphones. I doubt he/she will ever invite me in there "for real".

The 295 by Notts was at the top end of the new range. A marvellous 132 off 118 from Wessels pushed Notts out there. Junaid Khan went for over 70 off his 10. Ollie Rayner was able to peg them back a little with 4-35.

But, it always looked a big ask. Sam Robson, Malan & Gubbins started well. The Middle were up with the rate at that stage. But, they couldn't kick on.
