Played at Bramall Lane

I've let myself down. There is no way I have done justice to the North Midlands Development Football League this season. No Home matches - embarrassing. Aways at Staveley Miners Welfare (v Chesterfield) & Belper Town. Oh & an away at Mickleover Sports - they more or less immediately dropped out of the League !! Poor all that, given it's a ground tickers dream league.
Here's the round up. United finished 2nd in the U19s Division North. Behind no stopping Handsworth Parramore. Played 12. Won 12. Handsworth also won the U19s Play Off Championship. Beating South champions Collingham in the final. Handsworth are also in the final of the Mini Shield.
Indeed, The Blades U19s are the only team to beat Handsworth Parramore so far this season. That was in the Quarter Final of this League Cup.
Today's opponents, Dunkirk U19s, finished 2nd in the U19s Division South.
United finished 4th (out of 8) in the U21s Division.
Of course, the trumpeted successes have been Brodie Litchfield & Nat Crofts. Both have been able to step up from Futures to Scholars.
Good effort by the club to host that at The Lane. It had been scheduled at a couple of neutral venues. Doesn't make sense to play such a game at a neutral ground. The Dunkirk Mob were loud n proud here. Wouldn't surprise me if they outnumbered the Carrier Bag Firm.
Dunkirk’s keeper made a number of double saves. And Dunkirk had clear chances of their own. I thought Dunkirk played well. The better team in parts.
Today's drink was in The York in Broomhill. There were glasses over taps for Wild Beer, Moretti & Frontier. And my pie came with mash, when I ordered chips. Superb mash mind.
House, True North pints are two & one half English Pounds. There were 8 casks on. A nice range.
True North, Australian Blonde on cask at 3.8%. That's Blonde. So Blonde, it's actually looks a little unappealing in the glass. But, nice beer overall. Floral smell. Comes up slightly anaesthetic salad leaf bitter in the taste. Bitterness lingers on your tongue tip only. How do they do that?
Then. Blackjack, Mosaic Light on cask at 3.7%. Loved that. Only 3 point & bits. But, really makes you stand up and take notice. Showcases the Hops superbly. Herbs, even ginger in the finish. Slight dryness. But, bursts with flavour. A bit more wine gum sweetness as you get down it.
