Only one show in town today. The Lord's Beer Festival. Casks racked for Gravity in The Harris Garden. Bits of it were odd. Some casks not labeled. So, you had to trust the barstaff as to what you were getting. Beer vouchers needed to be bought from the same bar that was dispensing coffee & grape based products to less discerning customers. Some beers described as off/not available very early in proceedings. But, then casks seemed to be being rolled out. As in ROLLED, that won't settle by tomorrow mate.
Who fucking knows who owns what now? We've got Ringwood, Brakspear, Revisionist, Marstons, Thwaites & Banks up there (at least). Maybe they're all the same. Brewed in North Korea. But, at a Sports Ground. That's as good as it's going to get. All £3.60 a pint. In general, could be worse.
I'm no expert. I don't drink Big Boy Brewery in the norm. But, there are 3 or 4 out there making a debut for me. To get in the swing, I've done.
Marstons Revisionist, Salted Caramel at 4.3%
Ringwood, Red Boar at 3.9%
Brakspear, Varsity Pale Ale at 4.5%
All seemed underpowered. All identikit colour. But, all worth having. Tomorrow, and we go again.
Manoeuvre for position day. Yorkshire made inroads. But Middle Saxons deffo stayed in it. A few chances went begging. And it might have looked a lot different.
