That was the 208th different ground I’ve seen a Sheffield United XI play on. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed.

That looked like a good workout for the Futures Lads. The Carrier Bag Firm might have had a touch this season as the @sufc_futures Twitter account seems to be “active” again. For pre season games, they’ve had a slight inclination to tweet after the game. Thus denying us the chance to be at the bleeder. Worse than not knowing in the eyes of the CBF Militant Wing. Still every little helps. I recognised a few fellas out there from recent seasons. But whom is whom will remain a problem I fear.

A good even game. Hard fought.

The lunchtime meal in a glass was in The Brew Shed in Retford. Browsing the net, chatting to the fellas, that is the home of Harrison’s Brewery - out the back - no photo opportunities available. It felt a bit (no a lot) of an honour to have;

Harrison’s Brewery, Gyle One on cask at 3.9%. The experiment worked lads. That is a nice enough, simple English Pale. I’d have preferred something more citrus or floral. But, Gyle One - we’re in the game.
