Well, save for some crazy running around idiot style logistics, that worked out OK for me. I'd have enjoyed Australia v India. But the fact that England qualified for the Tri Series Final, rounds the trip out nicely.
But, woeful. Never got going. Lost by a Bundle.
Also, need an excuse, it's time for David Warner. In general, I find Australian cricketers easy to like. Some of them just because of their record. Some of them for their record & the cut of their jib.
It took me years to persuade Mrs Ball-Sup that Ponting was a fantastic cricketer. Great record. Played hard. Said it like it was.
Michael Clarke, I like. From Day 1 I liked the way Steve Smith played his cricket. I believe & hope he'll make a fantastic Australian Captain. And he should chuck his LegSpin on more.
Shane Warne is a tit. But, he won games by skill & force of personality. Made things happen. When people ask me whether I think Warne was the greatest Spinner who ever played - NO he was the greatest PLAYER. I could watch him all day.
I have an irrational dislike of so-called Yorkshire Legend Darren Lehmann. Pulling out of the game which would have sent the BrownHatters down into Division 2. Weak.
Hayden, I've never got.
But, David Warner is Something Else.
I Blogged earlier last year about Andrew Gale & the racism charge against him. Here's one. How has Warner avoided a Racism charge when screaming SPEAK ENGLISH at Rohit Sharma.
I mean come on, la plume de ma tante est dans le jardin, Où est la clé pour la douche chaude?
You've got multi-lingual players out there, with English not their first language, playing a World Game, watched by a vast non English speaking public. And Warner is berating them to SPEAK ENGLISH. Unbelievable. Don't like him. Cricket Record speaking for itself or not. Don't like him. The book should have been thrown at him.
(And remember Lehman was charged by the ICC of using a racial slur about the Sri Lankans).
Warner remained an Ambassador for Movember, an organisation working to make a difference in Men's Mental Health issues. AFTER calling players weak & talking about scared eyes. AFTER, Shame.
Some shenanigans at the end when England's Tail played a few defensive shots.
Have a go yer Mug. I love how an Australian crowd, when they have you 7 or 8 down, believe English batsmen should get themselves out. Have a go yer Mug. Lots of barracking to that effect in The Members.
I always always always join in, but berate the Aussie Captain. Come on Bailey you Mug, do something, it's your job to get them out, I've got to get to the pub, etc.
Bad day, I had to get my fun somehow. ...
