That was a fair play to all concerned effort. The first time Middlesex Women have played at Lord's. A more “friendly” warm up match featuring Lady MCC Members. Lots of school friendly initiatives to bring school groups in. Mascots, tours, cricket games in the Nursery Ground, helpful stewards. I'm no fan of the MCC - elitist. But, man, they get a lot of things right which other (County) Clubs could learn from.

Here's one. There is never any real hassle taking beer in. Any vessel. But, not too many. Nobody is fussed. You don't get treated like some loony alco. This inclusive approach lead me to a great find.

Real Ale, 4 Formosa St, Little Venice. Maybe a brisk 10 minute walk from The Grace Gates. Bottle, can & fridge shop. With six (was it?) craft keg taps. Whacked into PET Growlers. And, Der Der Der Der, an on licence. So, you can have a keg or can at a table. Taking the world in. Without a care.

I took a Growler of,
Cloudwater DDH Pale Mosaic BBC at 5.5%

Very good beer. Bursting & bustling with flavour. Got a "Hop Stew" quality. And, is more citrus than bitter.
