It does seem a bit crazy in this day & age to have different rules & regulations across UEFA & FIFA. The bottom line is if you look simply at the Group A table, England are out. Three teams on six points - Italy with plus 3 goal difference, Switzerland plus 2, England just plus one. Two to qualify. But, the UEFA regs use Head to Head results. Chucking away the goals bagged against null point Israel, ENGLAND ARE THROUGH to the Quarters. Where they will play FORTY MINUTES each way - because this is UEFA.
England never really got going. They didn't play badly, they did create some chances, just they weren't clinical enough. I've had to remind myself this is Development Level football. That will happen. It was a bit unedifying at the end. One nil down. Taking it into the corner. Time after time. To qualify on a quirk. Still, I suppose they've got to learn that an’ all.
Great Development Drink in the Cutlers Arms. Full range of Chantry Brewery on.
Chantry, New York Pale on cask at 3.9%.
Really good beer. Fresh, lots of flavour. Keeps its head all the way. Some citrus, some salad leaf. Bitterness grows nicely.
Chantry, Iron & Steel on cask at 4%.
A bit of nut. Maybe toffee. Good old skool bitter. Nicely balanced.
Chantry, Diamond Black Stout on cask at 4.5%.
Great beer. Well balanced. Slight smoke, slight toast. I'm not getting chocolate nor coffee. But, a nice bitter hit at the end.
