Well, that has moved on. Towards the end of a long day, Lancashire just looked like they were gathering again. They were 190 for 5. (Although I’m thinking that is nee 6, what with Livingstone’s broken thumb). Crucially, Buttler was still there. Ticking along nicely on 59. He’d put on 80 with Bailey. Two overs left in the Day. Root replaced Brooks. Bowled 4 dots to Buttler & then had him caught by Williamson off the fifth ball. To be honest. It looked tall order for Lancashire from a long way out. Although Lyth, Root & Williamson had gone cheaply to 21 for 3, Bairstow did a Bairstow with Harry Brook. They put on another 133 before Brook went for 55. He should be pissed off - there was a ton there methinks. Ballance went at 170 for 6. But, the tail got it to 239. A neat 45 from Patto. See what happens from here.
Oh & Josh Poysden went for for 37 off 7. Seemed to be a lot of full bungers & drag downs. To me….
I was initially disappointed at perusing the board in The Piccadilly Tap. It looked a bit safe. Beavertown, Fourpure, for eg. Still. Persevere. I was only having the one.
Comrade Games, Moor Beer Co. on keg at 6%. Delish. A simple enough beer. Served nice & chilled. Very refreshing. The hops kicked in, The bitterness grew. The finish lingered. That’ll do.
