Brazil Debrief

Twitter @ball_sup

I was out in Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup following England. I'd been to Brazil once before for the Brazil v England friendly in The Maracana in 2013.

As part of that trip we'd gone North to Manaus & a boat trip on The Amazon.

World Cups can be odd. You go to wonderful countries - but sometimes to parts of them you wouldn't naturally choose.

And we found ourselves back in Manaus again....

This is Debrief not Detail. Let's have it right. Amongst it's other attractions Brazil is a great emerging beer destination. I clocked up 62 different beers from Brazil. Only in the last few days did I go back to the same one twice. And I didn't have to venture into the industrial territory of Skol & Brahma.

Standouts were;

Noi Amara Imperial IPA - surely among the best high abv IPAs I've ever tasted.

Good collaborations by Invicta/Sixpoint 6 O'Clock IPA & Tupiniquim/Evil Twin Extra Fancy IPA

Schornstein IPA

Vinil 33 1/3 Bohemian Pilsner

Amazon Stout flavoured with Acai fruit
