On the Shelf, a sign of the times

Bradford Park Avenue 2 v Sheffield United U21 XI 3

The coach dropped me near enough to Shelf (West Yorks) to allow me to walk down the hill to The Shoulder Of Mutton.

My mate Jon was brought up in Shelf. When he was a kid, he supported Bradford Park Avenue. Once they went out of the League (& worse), he reluctantly felt he needed to switch his support.

Like many of us, he couldn't switch to a club who were a rival. So step-by-step he ruled teams out. Bradford City, Leeds, Huddersfield, Halifax ..... all impossible. So he ended up alongside me as Sheffield United.

For his sake, I head for Shelf if I'm in the area.

Anyway - Shoulder Of Mutton - Shelf - off the beaten track.

But, they had a nice set of Craft big boys bottles on the shelf (see what I've done there), including Brooklyn, BrewDog, Sierra Nevada, Anchor, Flying Dog, Little Creatures, Founders all at 2 for £6.

Sign of the times.

I had Saltaire Blonde on hand pull.
