The coach stopped in Stamford. Using the CAMRA Good Beer Guide app I picked The Green Man. Music was a bit loud. But some good toooons - lots of The Stranglers. 6 cask (2 blank) couple of ciders. Leffe on keg. Few other things. Old gaff. Low beams. Wooden furniture. Not unpleasant. But I probably wouldn't hurry back. I liked the beer selection mind.

I had Truefitt Brewing Erimus Pale at 3.9% on cask.

I enjoyed it. Grapefruit. Soft head. Nice heavy sits on your tonsils bitter finish. It was quite chewy in the mouth - you knew you were drinking it.

The big hop kick suggested a bigger abv. Further down the glass I got a bit more sweetness sitting on my lips.

The Blades were quite bright tonight. It could have gone either way. But we were worth the win. Lots of chances at both ends. I thought Murphy did OK. Lots of attacking players at pace with the ball at his feet. Problem there is if he loses it we can look a bit exposed.

Collins won lots of headers. The usual pre season shenanigans of losing your best players to higher leagues are bad enough. Then all your loan players go back to their parent clubs. You end up nearly building a new side every year. To voluntarily leave out experienced players like Collins .... I'm not so sure.

They looked better with him.

Good one. A win & lovely beer from Truefitt Brewing.
