Bit of a love in. But I can handle that. Applause for Liam & John the two Newcastle lads who died in the plane crash. Applause for the impressively large number of Newcastle fans who had made the trip. Applause to/from Morgs to all concerned.

Morgan is old school ain't he. Introduced to the crowd at the start. He walked straight over to the Newcastle players & shook all their hands. Salute.

United would have been disappointed to go in a goal down at half time. Adams & Woolford both had double miss kicks in front of goal. Snatching at them a bit.

Basic set up is tight 4-4-2. In the first half that had Adams & McNulty up top. Murphy wide left, Woolford wide right. Basham & Baxter in the middle. That first half defence still looks makeshift to me. (As does any other combination). They conceded from a corner. Adkins chucked his water bottle on the floor. Collins & McFadzean conducted an informal "it was your fault" post mortem. A screamer from Freeman eventually kept them in it.

Adkins is using twenty players a game. I remain OK with that. But he'll need a first XI at Gillingham. New boys Woolford & Sammon were competent. But no trees pulled up at this stage. Sharp, Sammon, McNulty, Done, Higdon, Adams, de Girolamo, Calvert-Lewin. If Adkins ever fancies eight up front.

The drink was in BrewDog. I don't get much chance to go in there. So happens, I was with my two Geordie brothers who were writing the match report for True Faith.

Nice and full. I had "Vagrant Stubble" on. Lots of other fellas had "Hipster Beard" on.

I went;

BrewDog - IPA Is Dead Ella on keg at 7.2%
BrewDog - Jackhammer on keg at 7.2%

and beer of the day,
BrewDog - Bourbon Baby on keg at 5.8%

Lots of lovely stuff going on, coffee, toffee, chocolate, caramel. All nicely balanced at a sensible abv. The other two were great as well.
