Unbeaten in 14 games. Ten of those were wins. Only conceded 16 goals in 23 games. That win puts us TOP, 2 points clear of Huddersfield with only 7 games left in the season. Top 2 in the Play-Offs. We are 8 points clear of Hull in third.

The only downside is that we’ve played more games - 3 more than Huddersfield, 1 more than Hull.

It’ll be clearer by the time we play our next game. Huddersfield play twice before that. And, Hull play that game in hand. Watch This Space.

Intriguing lack of Ben Whiteman in today’s line up. Could it be he’s gonna be involved v Burton. His name never seems to crop up.  There were chances at both ends. But, my view would be that Utd were the better team & well worth that win. Jake Wright & Harvey Gilmour both had decent chances in the first half. Lots of great shifts by virtually everyone. Nobody was anonymous or hiding.

The front two of De Girolamo & Wright worked a little better than in recent games. Although, their play between them is still not great. Of course, they are both good enough players for that not too matter too much. There’ll always be chances &, individually, they’ll give themselves a chance. Some nice buffoonery in the Jamie Vardy Stand. The Teamsheet had Diego at 9 & Jake at 10. But, on the shirts it was the other way around.  Some lady in front of me. No problem, might not have seem them before. She assumed Jake was Diego. But, then insisted in criticising GERONIMO every time Jake Wright let something slip. It would have been too pompous of me to correct her.

For the first, some nice persistence by Diego had the ball bouncing off defenders & him. It fell nicely loose. But he’d earned that. Knocked it in.

In the second half, United had a few shouts for hand ball in the Box. On one, the referee shook his head & touched his upper arm to indicate where it had hit the Crewe defender. You know. Upper arm. As in Hand Ball.

A ball fell loose and bounced just right for Jake Wright. He blasted it. It hit and Alex. Lord only knows where. But the ref saw it as Hands & gave the penalty. Wright banged into the roof of the net.

The Rawson Spring. Arcadia Ales, Angler’s Ale on cask at 5%. Part of the International Brewer’s Showcase thing. (Brewed in England). But, the parent brewery is in Michigan.
