Old Skool would be that the Captain makes the decisions. I wonder if that is what happened on the Follow On. Or whether Gillespie & a Brains Trust were involved. Interesting to think - What Would Gale Do?

We had a morning which livened up at times. They got a 450 lead. Captain Ballance got his ton. The declaration came. In my opinion, a little too late to allow a full burst at them before Lunch. Wickets came. Chipped away.

Then the rains came. Very heavy. I think technically they were already off for Bad Light by the time it started. The New Ball will be due in time for Sidebottom & Brooks to have a burst just before Tea on Day 4. If it goes that far, Ballance will be getting twitchy.

Flying visit to the North Riding Hotel. Good beer range. Nags away though. Always something. I can't recall being in there without some issue developing. This time it was the food. We had a perfectly good table in the Pub. But, when I ordered the food, I was told we'd have to go upstairs to eat it. Everyone polite. And eventually we were served at our Pub table. Nags away.

A perfect pint of North Riding, US Session IPA on cask at 3.8%.

And, then final knockings in Indigo Alley. Maybe half a dozen left from their original 15 for the Beer Festival.
