At last. A chance for me to give my Goalkeeping Masterclass. Free kicks in shooting distance. Stand fairly central. End of lesson.
Moore didn't. Charlton scored. So, I can say it. Back off.
Of course, it was in a great position. If anything, a bit too close to the box to get it up, over, down & in. And, the fella has great technique to have the ball on a string & knock it where he likes. But, it must have looked mighty inviting. That big gap Moore had left to his right. Thing is. If Moore is in the centre & is beaten to his left. Wonder strike. If Moore is in the centre & is beaten to his right. Wonder strike.
But, if he leaves a big gap to his right. And is beaten. We're all “might have got to it if he'd been stood central”.
I found Wilder’s Carruthers for Duffy sub intriguing. It's not like for like is it? I've gone overboard about Carruthers as a creative attacking threat in previous Blogs. But, just watch him next time. Don't take your eyes off him. He doesn't do the defensive stuff. He lets players past him. He tracks a bit, then gives over. He’s facing the goal Utd are defending a hell of a lot.
I'm not having a go, that's his role. That's why Wilder sends him on. To up the attacking threat. But, he'd be a hell of a player if he tracked & blocked a bit more.
True North Brew Co. opened the Brewery Door on Eldon St as part of Sheffield Beer Week. (Although they do open every few weeks anyway). Perfect set up. Brewing kit right there. (FFS gin distillery & coffee roaster an’ all). Trestle tables & benches. Two on cask. Three on keg. All their own. Good number that.
True North, Earl Grey IPA on cask at 4.7%. Fresh that. Lovely. Much of it happens at once. Malt into bitter into a tangy long, lovely finish. I didn't think I'd like that, but I do. Very light marmalade on the nose. Otherwise neutral. I don't drink tea. So, I'm not sure what I'm trying to discern. I'm getting lots of orange. And a growing mouthfilling bitterness. All nicely balanced. And, if anything, it's growing on me as I get in. Great beer.
True North, IPA on keg at 5%. Not much on the nose. It's got elements of straight ahead IPA. The long, intense, rich bitter finish dominates. Mate, that's what we came for. I'm not too sure how much the Earl Grey is still on me. But, I think rich orange flavours dominate this keg IPA as well. The bitterness is very appealing. Ditto. Great beer.
