No. No. No. That's not what we had in mind at all. That, literally, does not add up. Miles off. The follow on. Parity. Respectability. The lot. Miles off.
A bottle of Marston's, Pearl Jet Stout at 4.5%. Along with lunch in the fairly newly opened Pelham’s in The Warner Stand. Lord's and the MCC continue to be up their own arses. But, shit, they do this sort of thing well. They know they've got the well heeled clientele to just chuck staff at the problem. Seemed like dozens of them. Very efficient. But not in your face. That Stout came up OK. Looked a bit sad & flat poured into the glass. But tasted decent enough. Nothing challenging. Nice depth & richness.
Followed up later by a tin of Wild Beer, Invest Wildly Different, Cloudy Crowd at 5.2%. One from Mrs Ball Sups ever widening portfolio of shares in & slices of breweries. AB Inbev are gonna put an offer in for her in the not too distant. Anyway. From what I can gather. She's chucked into Wild Beer. One of the perks is a few free, one off special cans.
Brown Murk. They could have called this one. I love Murk. Prefer it appealingly orange juice or pineapple juice coloured though. Not brown. Not much hop action either. Nice enough. But, a piss take beer really.
Yorkshire actually bowled quite well in the morning. We took enough wickets to leave them in no man's land chasing the 400 in 110. Coad in particular was both lively & economical.
They've batted like a drain. Ballance is still there with a 50. Brook & Lyth were passable into the high 30s. The rest of 'em. Shit. You've just got to make runs. It's sort of how the game works. Fair do. Middle Earth Saxons have bowled well. Mate, they're allowed to do that. You've got to get around, under, over, through all that. And still make runs.
Miles off. See what happens.
