On the cans. Vocation, Life & Death at 6.5%. Lovely.

We've been here before. Batting track. Tough opponents. Lack of penetration from the bowlers. The batsmen have, in due course, to guts it out & match the Middlesex score. That is the game.

It looked a bit green from the top deck of the Pavilion. But, hotter than hell. And not a cloud in the sky. The first hour and bits were riveting. Compo & Robson determined to get through it. Bats being beaten. Plays. Misses. Very few runs. Most that did come seemed to be Extras. On a different day, that might have been three down quickly. Just when you thought it was safe, Compton got out to Patto at 64-1. And, Eskinazi was cleaned up by Brooks at 75-2.

Robson & Stirling took it a long way. A stand of 187. Both got their Tons. Before Stirling was LBW to Adil. I wasn't counting. I haven't got facts. But, Rashid looked like he was bowling two dross balls per over. No one could apply pressure. It looked lame.

Keep going. Winkle. Winkle. Then. Batsmen. Do the job. Good day’s Cricket that.
