Nervy couple of minutes at the end. But, and this is not my style, we've battered them really. Out everythinged 'em everywhere. Rebuilding is a bugger. And, Sunderland are having to do it. Under normal circumstances you can't do it quickly. Certainly not immediately. Unless you're Chris Wilder of course. (Disclaimer, that was Division Three).
Sunderland seemed to just be playing by numbers and shapes. But, they didn't seem to be able to adapt. Nor make decisions. Crowd on their back. Toxic. But, they stayed in it. Nervy at the end.
You need to have some simple building blocks. Get at the ball. Know your job. Bit of continuity. Some leadership. Wilder knows that. United do that. Sunderland looked way off.
Two great, great goals. For the first, Donaldson was moving before the ball was played into Sharp. So, when Sharp thinks he can knock it to Donaldson. He's already Double Moving. Great ball to him. Great, great finish.
Second. Great ball from Brooks. Great finish from Donaldson.
No, no doubt. Brooks livened it up. Mate, don't think I'm saying it weren't lively before. But, he did put it up a notch. Stand out performances. All over the shop. Basham. Coutts. Fleck. O’Connell just O'Connelling throughout. Stevens & Freeman popping up in the box. That was a serious performance. Puts us fifth. After six.
Hyde's Bar. Micropub. Stockton-On-Tees.
