SUFC 2017/18 Game 42
Games are coming thick & fast. For me (3 in 3). And the players. With a very young U23 side playing regular game at the mo. With an important FA Youth Cup game next week. Some players are being ”rested”. Opportunities for the even younger. Doors closing. Doors opening. No doubt, the Young Lads have struggled out there. Fair play, they seemed to get it together a bit more in the second half. They kept their shape. The discipline went a bit towards the end as we had a Red Card and there was a general melee. Pushing, shoving & pointing aplenty. But, it felt like a bit of a comeback after being three down in the first 40 minutes.
It’s a difficult season for United at U18 level. That result leaves us played 16 - won 7 - lost 8. And, puts us third bottom (ninth). We’re level on 22 points with Barnsley (below us on GD) & Hull (above us on Goals Scored). Incidentally, Hull got Royally hammered 8-0 at SWFC. Despite all that, it is inevitably tight. Our 22 points is only 5 behind today’s victors Leed. They’re in third with 27 points.
I needed a consolation drink in….
The Barstewards - North Riding Brewery, Mosaic Pale on cask at 4.3%.
Shakespeares - Arbor, Motueka IPA, Single Hop India Pale Ale on cask at a Skull Splitting 6.7%
