My 101st Brewery was effectively 15 minutes on a bus to Wembley. Alright, it's a few minutes to the bus stop. And, alright, the bus drops you near The Torch. So, you've got to wend your self up Wembley Way. And, the traffic was shit on Friday night, with a game on. But, you know, nominally, fifteen on the bus. And, it was pretty marvelous as well.

Moncada Brewery, NW2 6EN. The enormous taproom is on a sort of mezzanine level, up some stairs from the front. The Brewing kit is at the back, on the ground floor. Great helicopter view of it from the taproom. They had a massive, whopping, magnificent TEN of their own on keg - plus one guest. I tried;

Moncada, Notting Hill APA at 4.7%. That was OK, without making you look up & smile. Well balanced. But everything needed a bit more ooommmppphhh. There was gentle fruit, maybe peach. And that lead into a fairly gentle bitter.

Moncada, Verano, Session Pale at 3.2%. That was lovely. Maybe apricot in the fruit. And, crucially, some of the sugar from that stayed & held up. Mingling beautifully with the Hops once they kicked in.

However, sorry all you Moncada Lads n Lasses. But, Outstanding Beer Of The Day goes to the Guest.

Pillars Brewery, Untraditional Lager at 4.5%. More of an Indian Pale Lager than a dirty unfiltered Pilsner. Absolutely full of flavour though. All balanced & in sync.

Raheem Sterling though…...
