Despite the rain interruption that’s a very high scoring tie. Kohler-Cadmore, Lyth & Willey all passed 70 for Yorkshire before the rain interruption on 40 Overs. And t’other ‘un Brook was on 59. Despite two batsmen only making one each in the Derbyshire Ducks innings, Leus du Plooy made 75. But, it was really a superb 107 red inker from Billy Godleman which got Derbys close. Eight fours & 6 sixes in that 62 ball knock. The Carrier Bag Firm had a “convivial one”. What with that lengthy rain delay & the relative distance to The Arcadia. So, I ain’t got much by way of analysis.

David Willey bowled the last over, with Derbyshire needing 17. You know, you’re thinking, they shouldn’t get there from there. One wide. A four. A six. Bits. Pieces. Left them 4 off 3. You know, you’re thinking, they should get there from there. But, they needed a scampered Bye to the keeper off the last ball to Tie it. Patto had actually dragged us back into it with the 21st over. Just six off it. Anyway - Yorkshire need to strangle these sort of games out.

(The Arcadia)
Vocation Brewery, Double Take, Double IPA on keg at an appropriate 8.1%.
The pump clip claimed Valencia & Blood Orange. But, I must say, I didn’t really get that. Partly, because the rest of it was so deep & powerful. The hop bitterness just kept on coming. Outstanding

I had ploughed into a number of The Kernel Pales & IPAs at a Tap Takeover in the week. In The Arcadia, it was….

The Kernel, Pale Ale, Zeus, Amarillo, Simcoe on keg at 5,3%. Great beer. Very grassy at the off. Indiscernible citrus comes in, And the hop bitterness fills in at the end.

  1. Were you one of 4 blades in the Arcadia? I was one of the Wednesday fans! I didn't want you to go up! I mentioned cooking lager in the plastic bottles thread. I very much enjoyed your reply. Canterbury sounds great. We generally go to the Arcadia for a pint at lunch. I am annoyed at the no cans policy as the drinks in the ground are overpriced and not good enough
