FFS. England have taken just two wickets all day. NZ have a lead of 41 at the death. It didn't feel like a wheels have come off day. And, what would I know about the pitch flattening out or not. One of those wickets was Nicholls. LBW. "Bowler's Name". Root. Says it all about the day. No pressure created. Not exactly leaking runs. But, just nothing happening.

Watling (in particular) and de Grandhomme were magnificent. Nothing flashy. Played the game position. Played the day. Watling still fucking there on 119. Off just shy of 300 balls. He's put his team in the game. And stayed at it.

Partly. No way I could enjoy the post match Beer. I'd have preferred to just hide away. But;
