Full on finish to that game. Chasing 182 to win, Collegiate lost their sixth wicket in the 25th over. Leaving them to make 82 off 94, but with just four in the hutch. With 10 overs left, that had widened out to better than a run a ball - 63 off 60. Whitley Hall brought James Brown back into the attack for the 34th over. He went for four off that one. But, then banged out a Maiden to Collegiate Skipper, Josh Varley in the 36th. That left Collegiate harrying after 33 off 4 overs. The hemmed in geography at Whitley Hall means the boundaries behind the stumps are quite short. So, Shaaiq Choudhury got the Scoop Shot out of his isolated, Covid-19 compliant bag. A six. A two. A four. Off Neil Longhurst. 22 off 3 overs to hit the bar with a W.

That set up the full on finish. Death bowler Brown went for just two in the 38th. Choudhury was out in the next over. Having just hit his second six. So. 11 off the last. Four One Dot Four One. And it all went to the final ball. James Brown to Josh Varley. Scores. Level. Everyone in on the one. He's dropped the bat on it. They're scampering. They're still scampering. He's underarmed it to the non-strikers. He's hit 'em. The Lot Go Up. Not. Out. Pack the folding chairs away. We're done here.

Natch, I thoroughly enjoyed that one. But, the blokes at Whitley Hall will forgive me. As I explain that my visit to them was, unfortunately, second best. You see, the Carrier Bag Firm had deployed Full Ticket Gangmaster Sorcery to secure tickets for the Spectator Pilot game at The Oval, v Middlesex. We filled the coolbag with belting beer banging cans. And, set off for London on Friday. The CBF BatPhone was lighting up around Noon. With strong suggestions we listen to the PM on the radio. Upon said airwaves, our trip to County Cricket was T for Terminated. Truthfully. The Oval's loss was not even Whitley Hall's gain. Although I did have a look in that lovely Clubhouse. Longingly at those Bradfield Brewery Bottles. I didn't buy owt. Whisper it. But, we'd brought the cans with us. (I did buy my lunch at the BBQ though, I'm not a Monster).

The 83a goes from near my gaff to Ecclesfield. Walk up the hill. Open can.

Beer of the Day was Howling Hops, Romans, DDH Single Hop Pale Ale 5.5%. Made with experimental hop HBC 586. Lovely. Nothing harsh from the hops. Although it didn't much taste Dry Hopped. It had a lovely & refreshing gentle tangy Fanta feel to it up top. Veritably fizzing with flavour. There wasn't much bitterness. But, the hop flavours kept coming.
