Northern Counties East Football League, League Cup, Second Round
Wednesday 3 November 2021
Ollerton Town's The Lane ground is the 377th different ground I have watched football on. And, I'm afraid that was the gratuitous reason for making the trip.
A no beer day. There wasn't a Clubhouse as such. The Tea Bar had tins of Carling & Dark Fruits. The linesman was quizzed, early doors, as to whether it could go to Extra Time. No. Whoop Whoop. Straight to penalties.
On paper, this was a tall order for League One, Step 6 Town against Premier Division, Step 5 Church.
And, it came to pass. Town one nil up on 31. But, killed by goals on 38, 43 & 76.
Seventy Souls attending.
