v Yorkshire 334 for 8
County Championship Division 1
Close on Day Two
Friday 15 April 2022
Played at Bristol
"When will it end Phil?"
I hear you ask.
"This - Yorkshire continue with Plan A - stuff?"
"When will it end?"
Not today Bruv.
Batters batted all day. Indeed, lost Fisher to the last ball of the day - gggrrrhhh. Lead of 107. Nibble a few more. Get 'em in. See if I'm still Blogging about Plan A tomorrow.
Lyth went for 52, right after his minor milestone. A bit disappointing, but he has occupied the crease. Took hours out of the game. Put runs in.
Brook went for 101, right after his major milestone. He could have been out in a run out kerfuffle before he'd made 20. And, as he singled his way to the ton, he was dropped in the slips on 99. But, he's tonned it, so back off.
(Note to self, maybe call it Plan A* when they go ON from milestones, see out the last over & don't fall agonisingly close to a Batting Point).
The exact calibration of Plans was undertaken in;
Wiper and True Brewery, Taproom & Can Kiosk
2-8 York St, St Werburgh's, Bristol BS2 9XT
(not my first time in here, although there's less seating among the stainless steel than I remember.)
(Some internet issues meant I didn't make many beer notes)
Eight of their own on Keg. One (very unusual for them) on Cask. A few guests.
Newtown Park Brewing Co (Bristol), We Are, Kveik Pale on Keg at 4.2%
Part of a Collab series brewed for International Women's Day.
Wiper And True, Lemondrop Hill, Gluten Free Pale on Keg at 4%
And, the Outstanding Beer Of The Day
Wiper And True, Wild Places, Pale Ale on Keg at 3.9%
Launch night for this one. They were even giving it away with an introduction from the brewer earlier in the day. We missed that as it's 96 overs minimum in the day FFS.
Hopped with Idaho 7. With some Citra and Comet for good measure. Beautiful. Quite crisp. But with a lovely underpinning bitterness. And, as billed, a good whack of citrus in the finish.
