Way Out West

Gloucestershire 227 all out
v Yorkshire 376 all out
Gloucestershire 253 for 6
County Championship Division 1
Close on Day Three
Saturday 16 April 2022
Played at Bristol

Game poised. Glos lead by a ton and a bit. Just four left. But Bracey still there, Red Ink, 112. Over 5 hours in. That could get tasty. The New Ball has only got 4 overs on it. Game poised. Put your hand up.

Superb Beer night as we considered the poise-ed-ness.

Lost And Grounded
91 Whitby Rd, Brislington, Bristol BS4 4AR

I really, really "needed" to get out to this one. You see their Keller Pils & Helles as the lager offering in many craft beer bars when the shout goes up…

Have you got any normal lager?

And, you hear rumours of Belgian Inspired Ales. Very well appointed tables & benches inside. Great decor. A few more trestle tables in the yard for those who aren't already sunburnt from the cricket.

Nine of their own on Keg. Plus one Collab. No Cask.

Lost And Grounded, Long Story Short, Table Beer on Keg at 3.2%

Claims Pils malt, wheat & oats. Belgian Yeast strain. Almost Bohemian Pilsner sweet at the death. Some Belgian Yeast funkiness around the margins.

Lost And Grounded, Hop-Hand Fallacy, Wit, on Keg at 4.4%

Again, claims Pils malt, 15% oats, 40% wheat in the grist. Dried bitter orange peel and freshly ground coriander added to the kettle.

Dee Lish. Got it all going on. Thought Banana at first, but more lemon peel. Lovely balance of flavours. Loved it.

And, the Outstanding Beer Of The Day

Neptune Brewery (Liverpool), Collab with Lost And Grounded, Lost At Sea, West Coast IPA on Keg at 6.2%

Hold the Front Page. At last. I've tried a few "West Coasts" recently which just haven't come anywhere near. This one is back in the room. Smells Tizer. Rich without being chewy. Tobacco bitterness. Sticky. Substantial.
