You don't see many Beer Reviews by Middlesex skipper Adam Voges do you? Maybe he'll pile into barrel aged Saisons, maybe not. I'll strike a deal with him. He steers clear of reviewing micro breweries on industrial estates in Walthamstow. I steer clear of commenting on whether County Captains enforce the follow on.

I've had a snide dig at him in yesterday's Blog. He's not enforced the follow on. His side has been shot out for 89.

James Harris was entirely irresistible today. Durham were fired on their way by twenty five past twelve. 9 for 34. Only Harris & "Ten Spoiler" Finn have bowled in Durham's second innings. Voges has won it at a canter.

Harris's heroics meant I got the afternoon in The Earl Of Essex, 25 Danbury Street, London N1 8LE.

Cloudwater, Spring 2015 Session IPA on keg at 4.8%. Slightly opaque, but inviting. Great intense bitterness from the off. It develops biscuit & straw. Smells crisp & clean. My sort of beer that.

Magic Rock, Warea Pils on keg at 5%. Pale, golden, opaque. Sweetened grapefruit aroma. Very powerful smell. It's mainly fruit in the mouth. Pleasant syrupy sweetness. Roof of the mouth quick bitter tingle.
