Crazy day at Lord's. 18 wickets. I've effectively seen none of 'em. I was hosting a Birthday Party for Mrs Ball-Sup in a Hospitality Box in The Tavern Stand. It was not the day to concentrate on the cricket as I was meeting & greeting, fetching & carrying.

One guest showed willing & asked me to help them understand the state of the game. I explained 463 was a good score. I explained how the follow on works. And that the game within the game was Durham making 313.

As the game moved on, Durham needed about 20 with 8 down. I returned to the inquisitive guest. Now it was happening in real time, in front of her eyes. "Phil, what happens if they get these 2 out quickly?".

"Well, what would you do Anne-Marie, on this the occasion of your second ever visit to cricket?"

Click. Click. Click. "I'd stick 'em back in Phil" ..... is the correct answer.

Adam Voges has gone the other way. Stick or twist Middlesex are rushed out for 89. That includes a red ink 22 from the Lambeth Lara Tim Murtagh off 14 balls, batting with a runner. He's pulled up lame in the first dig after 2 (two) balls. It's all gone on.

Durham chasing 259, end 24-2.

Due to our good friends the Pouring Partners, cricket hospitality essentially comes in one size. I've pushed the envelope and ended up with (all Bottle Jobs);

Krusovice Imperial at 5%
Marston's Pedigree at 4.5%
Marston's New World Pale Ale at 4.1%
Marston's Oyster Stout at 4.5%

Not bad. I enjoyed the New World. Pleasantly surprised. Refreshing mouth feel. Tangy bitterness. Short finish, but you knew it was there. The Krusovice weren't bad. Had more hops going on than I'd expected.
