A nice find that. The Tap House, Lancaster. Very quiet. Got an upmarket feel to it. Four cask & four craft keg on.

First up Squawk Brewing Co. from Manchester. Pretty sure that's the first time I've had a beer from them. Porter on keg at 4.5%. A little sour on the nose. But none of that coming through in the taste. Comes out fresh. Some gentle smoke. The bittering builds. Some salad leaves. Even a toffee sweetness. And there is a finish. And liquorice as an afterthought. Nice beer.

Next one pushing my buttons. York Brewery, Cardinal on cask at 4%. (CAMRA discount). Single hopped. Using a Slovenian hop. Lovely & golden. Nicely balanced. Some sweetness. The bitterness arrives quickly. Fair play. It is unusual. And not in a bad way. Fairly gentle. Some spiciness. Intriguing.

A definite recommendation if you're ever in Lancaster.

Mr Adkins rang the changes as he said he would. Before the game, I was wondering whether it might be best to stick close to the "first XI". Build a bit of understanding and confidence. But, that's not the modern way is it?

I'm not sure where Diego is. Not in the U21s yesterday. Not involved at Morecambe.

Anyways. A more cohesive & believable game from The Blades. New boy David Edgar started. And looked solid enough alongside McEveley. A potentially strong centre midfield of Basham & James Wallace.

That's part of the problem. Even to a cynic like me, Utd teams can look strong on paper. Pitch, different matter.

Kieron Freeman did very well. Marauding & attacking down the right. Oddly, he was the main attacking threat. With more composure, he could have had a few.

And then. At the death. A cross. A header. Oh yeah, I remember them.
