On the way, we had a quick refuel at The Jolly Brewer in Stamford. (CAMRA Good Beer Guide). Fraying at the edges.. But nice enough. Five handpulls & two Oakham kegs. I had Brewster's, Marquis on cask at 3.8%. Great drop. Straight ahead classic English session bitter.
The bitterness is very nice. Grows slightly & lingers. Mouthfilling.
Even I am close to declaring Gillingham as an Official Blip. United were worth the win. But, they did struggle at times. Injuries to Scougall & Collins disrupted them. At one stage I'd have been OK with the point.
Before the injuries, and at times after, Sammon & Sharp were bright & strong. Sammon in a part target man role. Winning some headers. Sharp fast & moving off the ball. The Blip part of me says, they'll be OK if they continue like that. They linked well together.
United are giving the ball away in front of the defence too much. Cure that. Better. Great result.
