It was difficult to enjoy that. Let us assume the pitch has eased. 19 wickets on Day 1. 6 on Day 2. Three, (that is Three) on Day 3. Middlesex are 380 ahead. Still batting. The ninth wicket has put on 146. Brooks, Bresnan & Middlebrook have gone for Bucket Hundreds. And, Patto for 96. I'd need the Beehives, but it looked to me like very few balls from the seamers troubled the stumps. Over the top. Left outside the off. Or haring down the legside. Bouncers agogo. Not enough making the batsman play. Picking off the bad balls.

Comedy slow bouncers. Shortened run ups. Didn't look good.

Partly affirming. You talk about records, unbeaten runs, repeat wins, legacies. Game is gonna bite you on the arse. To be fair, YCCC weren't awful. Middlesex saw their chance & cashed in. They took it to & then away. Second & Third New Ball taken today.

And, I find it frustrating just how important that first, overcast morning Toss now looks. That lead already looks huge. Scoreboard pressure & all that.

One to forget.

Do you know? The Bowlers' Bar is at The Grand Stand end of the Lord's Pavilion. If you buy a beer in there, you can drink it outside on the lower tier. But, only in the bit in front of the Bar. There are signs up saying None Shall Pass Here. You are not allowed to take beers out of The Long Room Bar. So, you cannot drink a beer at The Tavern end of the Pavilion lower tier if you have bought it at a Bar. But, you can if you bought it in Tesco. (Or in my case BrewDog BottleDog).

This leads to delicious nonsense. Man drinking beer in plastic glass, purchased from in-ground bar. "Excuse me Sir, you can't drink that in this part of the ground".

Ball_Sup drinking beer in glass glass, poured from glass bottle. " Excuse me Sir, you can't drink that in this part of the ground". "Actually, it's part of my Picnic, I brought the bottle & the glass in with me". "I'm terribly sorry Sir, do please forgive me, carry on".

Now, I understand Duckworth/Lewis. But I'll die not understanding how they've come to a set of rules like that. I've been apprehended & released by Pavilion Stewards on Days 2 & 3.

Today, I was allowed to drink...

Orbit Beers, IVO Pale Ale, bottle at 5.3%

Moor Beer Co. Happiness, can at 6.5%
