What sort of Hybrid Shit is this? I'm old enough to remember Cask BrewDog. They've just trumpet launched Live Dead Pony Club. You can look the technicalities up on their website. I'm just going to say Keg Conditioned.

Sucker. I had to do it. I put the normal keg version up against the new Live version. Both blackboarded at 3.8%. First up. Let's have it right. Dead Pony Club is a superb beer. Packed full of flavour at a deliciously drinkable 3.8.

Live is more opaque in the glass. Warmer too. Which I assume is deliberate. Tastes lovely. Very smooth & gentle in the mouth. Some sweetness there. The bitterness grows gently. Doesn't overpower. But, lingers forever.

The keg seems more immediately refreshing. I guess less complex. The lovely citrus bitterness hits you upfront.

As you whack your nose in it, the Live smells more woody, earthy. The keg more zesty.

My initial reaction was that I liked the keg better. Does what it says. Hits the spot. As I cracked on….. I was loving the mouthfeel of the Live. And realising that it just gets there on a different route. It's a close run thing. Which of course has a negative. Is the new keg conditioning process worth it? But, a positive, both superb beers.

Eeny. Meeny. I'm giving it to the old, standard keg version. Refreshing, HopHead session pale.

Interesting development. Monitor.

Ditto, there is now (Industrial) Craft Keg on sale INSIDE The Lane. In a beer kiosk in John St. Just inside the “Bramall Lane end” half of the stand. I'm reliably informed in what used to be a mini club shop last season.

Usual rules apply. Big sports venue. Tied in to an Industrial Brewer as a Partner. Difficult/Impossible to go outside the box. So, it's very much a VARIETY call over QUALITY. But, in the circumstances, all hail that. The offering was/is;
Belhaven Craft Pilsner
Greene King East Coast IPA
Greene King Yardbird Pale Ale
All at £4 a pint.

Remains to be seen which other parts of the ground benefit.
