Great game that. Late show natch. But, United weathered an early storm. Kept the shape. Stayed organised. And, switched on. Towards the end of the first half, United came more & more into it. It was a game to be won. While we weren't missing chance after chance, we could/should have scored.

I kept trying to say to myself. Nil Nil having played well. That's alright. Even now, I feel that. But, so glad they got that winner. Not my style to say it, but they deserved that. Limbs everywhere on the terraces. One fella came more or less over the top of me & ended up cavorting on the pitch. That fella was on my trip to Albania v England in 1989. Which clearly makes him old enough to know better. Forgive him everything today though.

The squad worked well today. If you have a simple plan. Which you've been bang up to filling. Players know what they should do. No Coutts. That's sort of OK. Because, they all know what Coutts brings. So, they can fill in. Oh, & Jay O’Shea runs & waddles just like him. Which I see as a bonus.

I'm still not sure about The Big Lad Hanson up front. But, you need to play 11 & we won. He brings something different. And, he fits in with our strengths - wing backs bombing wide.

Two superb pubs/bars today. Firstly, a full on Micropub.

Despite that web address, it's actually called The Bumble Inn. One room micropub affair. Five on cask. Two pukka keg & Korev Lager. Quite busy as other Ball Suppers had tracked it down. But an absolute stonewall thumbs up recommendation from me.

Shiny, Sorachi Dark on cask at 5.4%. Great beer. Not quite black in the glass. Thin, latte head. Very chocolate aroma. When you slurp it, the bitter dominates (as it should). It gets there via apple, toast & yet more chocolate. It's full on bittering. Reasonably intense. And, it's back of the throat, grab you, bitterness. With a nice finish. Great beer.

And, secondly, a full on keg craft beer bar.

The Stoneworks. They've gone a bit overboard with the low tables & stools. But, that gaff is all about the Beer Board. I counted 19 on keg. Some intriguing 'uns an’ all. I was a little disappointed there appeared to be no 7.2% (or similar) throat killing IPAs. That's what I needed after that game.

Weird Beard, Hops Maiden England on keg at 4.5%. I needed some hops. Quickly. Yellow side of gold in the glass. Very tangy bitterness. Not an absolute Hop Bomber. But, certainly gets the job done. Maybe a hint of vanilla on the nose. Simple beer. Nothing complicated. All about the bittering.
