Pretty comprehensive that. Nottinghamshire lasted less than 41 overs. Yorkshire knocked those off in less than 33. Only three quarters of the game that. Nowadays, one eighty & bits is no sort of score. Yorkshire knocked those off comfortably. Twenty fours. Two sixes.
The Big Lads were back for both sides. An order with Lumb, Hales, Wessels, Samit & Brendan Taylor looks worrying & decent. International bowlers Broad, Ball, Pattinson. A side show with Sheffield's BILLY Root making a shirt for Nottinghamshire.
As Yorkshire started to run away with it, Read bowled Root for 3.4 overs. Partly to rest his Big Lads for matches future. Partly to grab an ego wicket v Joe Root.
A lot can happen in 50 (nee 40.5). One of the reasons 50 over stuff can be interesting if you stick at it. That 185 included a 65 stand between Wessels & Taylor. The first wicket didn't go down until the first ball of the eleventh. But, they've gone from 150-4 to 185 all out in only 8 overs.
Yorkshire put the brakes on. Tight bowling. Take wickets. Azeem had Hales with his very first ball. Patel whacked a poor 'un from Adil straight to The Fish. Azeem & Bairstow combined to run Pattinson out. Bresnan 3 for 22 off 7.
YCCC Big Lads Root (J), Bairstow, Plunkett, Rashid & Willey all grabbed a shirt. The Fish & Rafiq coming in to show them how County Cricket is played.
Look at the numbers. Can't do much better than that.
