That is my 197th ground watching a Sheffield United XI. Any Age. Any Surface. Any Competition.
Eastleigh are going for it. Trying to achieve League Status. There have clearly already been ground developments. Diggers suggesting more in the offing. Reasonable standing areas down one side and part of the end. Quite large all seater behind the other goal. And an old skool ten yard circle main stand. A hospitality, restaurant, bar arrangement behind one goal. Which looked very new & pristine. In the downstairs bit, (which doesn't overlook the pitch), they had Greene King, Barmy Army badged IPA on cask at 3.7%. So I had that.
I'd also been in The Moldy Fig. Fair enough. Three on handpull. But, that's not really a pub is it? Hotel, conference & restaurant complex. Very small bar front. Very small room. The small number of tables all had reserved stickers on them for people nosebagging. Anyway there was a storm. That was a port.
A very nice pint of Palmer's, IPA on cask at 4.2%.
We've finished where we started. Essentially a different XI each half v non league opposition. Done & Brayford played. Along with new keeper Blackman. I had too much going on to keep a real track of who did what. Horrendous weather. Attempted blag into the bar overlooking the pitch. Old Saints mate, who is now an Eastleigh season ticket holder.
