Disappointing on the beer front. Better. Much better on the football front. I'm going to ask. What is the point of that? There is a Micropub. And I'm going to name names here. The Taphouse in Atherton. Newly opened. A buzz going round on the Coach once we knew we were stopping in Atherton. Google maps set. Heads down. Route. March.

Guess what they've got on? Go on. Guess?

Pedigree
Bombardier
Jennings Cumberland
and
Marston's EPA

In a fucking Micropub. Who chose that lot? I did the WIMO. Walked In. Minced Out. Not a whole lot better in the Jolly Nailor Inn. (CAMRA Good Beer Guide). But. Doable. In fact, credit. I had a great pint. (Only three on).

Thornbridge, Peverel on Cask at 4.5%

That was full of flavour. Uncomplicated. But, well balanced. Before I go on, have a look at that list back up near the beginning. In a Micropub that lot. Crikey. Desperate.

We also hit an old favourite. The Pendle Witch. Moorhouses outlet. I had

Moorhouses, White Witch on Cask at 3.9%

I have to say. That was great as well. Some similarities in style to that Peverel. Sort of hopped blonde. Maybe I should have put 'em head to head. Think the Peverel would have just shaved it. Look. Two nice beers. A great win. I ain't down. But, I was amazed at how shit the beer offering was in that Taphouse micro.

Fella next to me in the ground nailed it for that United goal. Get someone free. Win the header. Keep it live. See what happens. Cameron Carter-Vickers knocked it home is what happened. I feel United were (again) worth that win. But, it was very difficult at times. The only, only way you could get through it was just to keep working. And that's what they did. Tracking. Blocking. Outlet running. Taking the knocks. Possibly too tenacious at times. But, only because that made it easy for Bolton to blag free kicks. Eventually Bolton just chucked the kitchen sink at it.

Like a broken record. But, much livelier again once Brooks came on. Basically in front of the midfield. And behind Clarke who was a front one. Brooks brings others into the play. Gaps open. Teams are stretched. He's lively. And it's infectious. A few other chances for United as well. They got Lundstram free, running at the keeper, at the end. Honestly. I just didn't fancy him for some reason. He did well. Tried to hit it over the keeper. But, it cannoned off the bar.

Heady heights of THIRD after that lot. Beer fiasco, what beer fiasco?
