We had the look like losing early on the Fifth Day Dividend Drink today. Effectively peanuts to get in. Rattle owt you fancy into the bucket for charity. No problems accessing The Members with so few turning up. “Excuse me, I was just wondering…” Charity tin. Rattle Rattle. Up the stairs. Checks watch. 0935. “Two James Squire, One Fifty Lashes in REAL GLASSES to drink inside please”.
Plan. Executed. I have to say. I've had it a large number of times. But, I really enjoyed that one. Dividend Drink. Always tastes a bit better.
Move To Milton Now. Our new regime for Digs is - as close to the Ground as possible, must have washing machine or guest laundry. We ummed and we arred about Brisbane. And, broke the location rule. Because of The Scratch Bar in Milton. You make your own luck in this game. Because. Milton now includes The Scratch, Aether Brewing & Newstead Brewing Co. Get at it.
Newstead Brewing Co was superb. A core range. Their own specials. And, one Guest Keg which I'd already ticked. The specials had a bit of an Oktoberfest thing going on. Not sure why. But, I just didn't fancy 'em. I have to say. That core range. All Winners. I could only pick nits.
I thought the pick was
Newstead Brewing, The Mayne Thing, Golden Ale 4.7%. But, ridic. I thought it tasted like a glorious full on West Coast Pale. Call it Fred. Call it Ginger. Got it all going on.
Newstead Brewing, Two To The Valley, India Pale Ale 6.4%. Deep, rich, throat grabber. Caramel all over it. Superb.
Newstead Brewing, Out & About Pale Ale 5.2%. Merest hint of tropical fruit up top. Nice sugar in the backbone to set it all up. Needs Ooommmppph
Newstead Brewing, Liquidambar, Amber Ale 5.2%. Tastes as good as it looks. Some blackcurrant, then chocolate there in the mix. Spice in the finish. Great beer.
Newstead Brewing, 21 Feet 7 Inches Porter 5.2%. Easy drinking very Dark Brown 'Un. I got red fruit at first. And some caramel. Modern Porter. Flavour bursting in.
Newstead Brewing, 3 Quarter Time Session Ale 3.4%. Lovely hoppy low abv gem.
