428 Australian Beer Ticks

I'm not too sure what to make of all that. Is it the lights? Is it the Pink Ball? Is it the temperature? Get your kicks while you can. Australia have sent Lyon in as Nightwatchman at 50 for 4. He crossed with Smith. Human after all. Apparently. Gone for six. LBW to Woakes.

Anderson & Broad had 'em playing & missing. They've managed 26 overs at Australia in the second dig. James Anderson bowled 11 of those. Good to watch. Broad orchestrating the chirping as Smudge came to the crease. With Davey Boy at the non-strikers “asking for clarification” from Broad. I'm sure no one crossed the line though. Like I care…

Paper over cracks though. Lest we forget. Cook was fourth gone at 80. With 37 runs. None of the other Big Lads got past 25. Until. Woakes & Craigy O put on 66. Bear Woakes went for 36. And, Overton top scored with 41 in Red. All from 142 (300 behind) for seven. Abject.

Pirate Life Brewing, Stout from a tin at 7.2%. Great beer. Sweet. As is the modern way. But, it's got enough backbone to hold that up. Some gentle red fruit. Very well balanced. Nice hop kick. And it tastes like a good old seven percenter. Without being cloying or treacly.

Barossa Brewing Co, Chocolate Coffee Stout from a tin at 7%. Whereas. Chocolate added. Coffee added. Too pissed around with I'm afraid. Not for me. First mouthful "too espressoey". Second mouthful too sweet.

Barossa Brewing Co, I Can't Believe It's Not Bacon from a tin at 5.5%. Good effort. They've gone for a straight down the line brown Rauch. I thought it had just too much hint of sour in it. If they really, really, really tried to give it the smokey bacon hit. Fair play. They've nailed it. It's not particularly to my taste. Sometimes if I want a smoked beer, I prefer it ramped up to Palate Killing Levels. I'll slag 'em off. They've just had a crack at a smoked beer. It's come up all bacon. They've invented the name. Maybe. In that order.

As I wander my way around the Adelaide Oval, I'll admit to being increasingly pleased with the Beer Offer (outside of Mid Strength Buffoon Juice).

Take the Phil Ridings Members Bar. You've got;
Rogers
West End Draught
Hahn Superdry
James Squire One Fifty Lashes Pale Ale
James Squire The Swindler Tropical Pale
all on keg

James Squire The Chancer Golden Ale
James Squire Four Wives Pilsner
James Squire Nine Tales Amber Ale
James Squire Jack Of Spades Porter
as bottlejobs.

Six Squires across the colour chart. Gotta love that.
