The Cricket
Absorbing. There's lots to be disappointed about. Cook gone cheaply again - seven. Root finding a way to get out - strangled down the leg side. Vince Vinced. Stoneman gutsed it out. Took a right belter to the lid. Claret from his mouth I understand. Gutsed it again. Positives emerging. Got an odd saw off by DRS. Not out on the field. 3rd Ump seems to have given him gloving. It didn't look like the glove was on the bat to me. It wasn't all that bad at 131-4.
But, it's a whole lot better at close. 305 for that same four. Malan cementing at 110 Red. Bairstow up a place in the order at 75.
Dutch Trading Co
The Eve Of Test Bevvy Up was held at Dutch Trading Company, Victoria Park (Perth 'burb). Roughly eighteen kegs chalked up. Great categorisation fella….

I don't mind admitting, I'd have preferred some “normal” WA 'uns. There was a Hemp Beer & a Raspberry Gose left untouched by us. But, we did have:
Homestead Brewing & Dutch Trading Co Collab, American Brown on keg at 6%.
Deep & rich. The bitterness grew from nowt & takes over. Superb.
NoWhereMan Brewing Co, By The Pound, Coffee Brown on keg at 6.6%.
I liked that. Because the Coffee is not over done. Enhances, rather than dominates. Hints not hits.
Rocky Ridge Brewing & Dutch Trading Co Collab, Captain Paddock, Belgian Golden on keg at 9%.
Straight ahead 9% Head Remover. Barley Sugar. Sour Wine Gums. Some other lovely Sugar Shit.
Mane Liquor
The first batch of Perth Room Beers have been sourced from the superb Mane Liquors in Belmont (Perth 'burb). Slightly ridic at first. We've marched in. Some nice fella has given me the full Can I Help You. I've started giving him the script. And, begun asking the required questions. He's only cut me short & gone to another minion & said “actually, can you deal with this”. Fella two has then shown me all the WA Micro Beers. Except those that were in the fridges. Or, as we shall rename them. The Vast Majority.
Any. Road. Up. Park all that. A superb beer range. WA. A U S. International. The Lot. A handful of kegs to fill your Growlers. Bottles & Tins Ago Go. We couldn't fail to get there in the end.
Mash Brewing, Indian Session Ale from a tin at 4.4%.
Mash Brewing, The Guv'Nor Big Pale Ale from a tin at 5.6%.
Underwhelming. Too sweet. Much too much toffee for a pale. Hops don't get there.
Australian Beer Tick Tidy Up
I had
Holgate Brewing, Hop Tart Semi, Sour Pale Ale from a bottle at 4.6%. (At Dragon Palace, Cockburn, WA).
Pleasant enough. But I'd have preferred more sour, more hops, more everything.
