Rugby League

Wow. That's a hammering in any language. It was a Dead Rubber, as England had already won the first two Tests. Still a hammering mind. I'm not a knowledgeable Rugby fan, of either code. I used to think/assume I preferred Rugby League. But, putting England v New Zealand at Twickenham on Saturday, and at Elland Rd on Sunday, head to head. On this occasion, I enjoyed the Rugby Union much more. I found the League a bit biff, repeat five times, kick - repetitive. Also, it feels like most tries are mad, dive for the line scrambles, which inevitably go upstairs for review.

Great Beer Day. At the Northern Monk Refectory. Which I'm claiming as my 55th May to May 2019 Brewery visit. The barstaff were very helpful & welcoming. Two of the beers, both part of the Patron's Project range, were outstanding.

Northern Monk, Patron's Project 12.02 // Evolution Of Tradition, IPA on keg at 4.6%. Allegedly made with foraged hops from the Harewood Estate. The Hops are used wet. Not something I'm used to. So, I was a little unsure where the flavours were coming from. Looked lovely. And, indeed, the Hops dominate. Nice, nearly aniseed flavour coming off them. Loads of flavour packed in.
