A great win at The Lane, that one. Premier League teams are drilled in managing games once they go a goal up. So, to get that over the line is a glimpse of how far we've come. I thought Bournemouth did a bit of a job on us. I quite enjoyed that if I'm honest. They were great at closing us down. Chasing. Pressing. They obvs felt Hendo punting out of his hands was suspect & put a man on him. A lot of our threat comes out wide. So Bournemouth worked really hard at blocking those crosses from Baldock & Stevens. Even when their first man couldn't quite get there, their central defenders were great at the angles to cut out the cut backs. Finally, I thought Bournemouth were good at playing between the lines.

But, we're gonna come at you relentless. It's numbers. You won't cut out every cross. So, I thought The Dorsetonians were well worth that goal lead from 13 minutes. A few underhit passes. Losing possession. They didn't run us ragged. But, they had us in trouble. It's a hard shout. But, at times, I feel Sharp & McBurnie are on their heels in the box. No drama with their running & chasing & holding & build up. But need to be completely switched on in the box. Once we got it together. Got in the game. I felt we could, should score. But, might not.

In the second half, once Lundstram came on, we were well on top. Simple isn't it. He knows the plan. He knows his job. He fucking wants to do it. Quick feet. In those circumstances we faced today. He's just what is needed. Got the winner on 84 an' all. Just one more game in February, at home. Sitting in Fifth. The Carrier Bag Firm do my head in. But, I'm contractually obliged to report on them. One of them (and I'm quoting) declared

"39 Points. I'm calling this as the Official Relegation Avoided Day"

There. You. Have. It.

Drinkypoos. Was in the very good Rooster's TapRoom, Hornbeam Park, just South of Harrogate. One of the non-SUFC Carrier Bag Firm needed to tick off Harrogate Town. Leaving him only one ground still tickable in The National League. Another of the non-SUFC CBF supports Eastleigh. And, that's who Harrogate were laikin. While they fucked around for Programmes & Teamsheets & Shit, I beered.

A great cavernous place. Nice bar front on the left as you walk in. Brew Kit behind glass in a "looks like there's plenty of room to expand" bit. Huge seating area. So, the Jury has been in on Rooster's for some time ain't it? Consistent. If the pump clip says it's summat, that is the summat it'll be. Pick a style. Pick a flavour. Deliver it. Consistently. I've got VD - Variety Drinking. Different stuff. That's what I crave. But, a small number of beers have stuck in my gullet. In a good way. If I see them, I'll fancy them, returning to the scene of the crime. Rooster's Baby Faced Assassin is one of those Go To Beers. Obvs, that was on in the Taproom (cask). But, lots to go at. So I left it alone just this once.

Rooster's Brewing Co Buckeye, Pale Session Ale on cask at 3.5%
Gentle pale. Just a little oversweet for me. But, develops nicely down the NZ route. The flavours come at you distinctly. Icing sugar at the end.

Rooster's Brewing Co Sawtooth, "Mountain IPA on keg at 6.7%
That came across a little bit throat lozenge to me. Strong flavours die quickly, then come again. Coating & warming. Not quite my taste if I'm honest.

Rooster's Brewing Co Little Changes, Mystic & Godiva Pale Ale on cask at 4.3%
That tasted terrific. But, it was one of those - you can't put your finger on it beers. The fruit was almost very diluted blackcurrant. Some spice in the finish.

Rooster's Brewing Co Tropical Assassin, Tropical IPA on keg at 6.1%
That was a bag of sweets in a glass. Sherbet fizzing. The fruit is indiscernible tropical. It pushes to overpower. But, stays just right.

Rooster's Brewing Co Double Assassin, DIPA, on keg at 8%
I'd been working myself up to that one. And, the fucking barman knew it. "Is it time for your Double Assassin yet?" I was a little disappointed/underwhelmed.

Which leaves Outstanding Beer Of The Day, the surprise winner was;

Rooster's Brewing Co Napoleon Complex, Mini West Coast Style IPA on cask at 3.2%
Right up there that one. I'm a #BigFan of flavour banging low ABVs. This was that. Very good. Merest whiff of citrus. That waves goodbye. And a rising bitterness kicks in. Piney maybe. Thick & clings to your throat. Moreish.
